Meet Our Team
Dedicated Leaders in Beekeeping
With more than 6 billion honey bees and 120,000 honey bee colonies, Nate’s Hives is the largest beekeeper in the U.S. We have a team of more than 100 beekeepers who are dedicated to caring for our honey bees, strengthening their health and harvesting high-quality, best-tasting Nate’s Honey.
Our beekeepers have years of experience with honey bees and provide local knowledge of their environment, making them the very best stewards. Behind them is a team of experts who support all they do, are committed to advancing beekeeping, agricultural operations and horticultural research, and are sharing stories and knowledge from the field. Meet a few of our Nate’s Hives experts.
Matt
As President and Head Beekeeper of Nate’s Hives Matt combines care and respect for our honey bees and our beekeepers with a passion for operations and innovation. It’s a unique pairing that comes from his family’s legacy of harvesting honey since the 1400s and his years of experience in corporate business.
After executive positions in information security and consulting with Fortune 500 companies, Matt founded and grew his own beekeeping business, Sweet River Honey, and became recognized as one of the industry’s most trusted leaders. He and Sweet River Honey then joined Nate’s Honey to establish Nate’s Hives.
Under Matt’s leadership, Nate’s Hives has grown into the largest apiary in the U.S. – a title he doesn’t take lightly.
“Honey bees are our passion, and producing honey in areas that are pristine, often untouched for years or generations by anything except nature, is our goal,” Matt said. “Nate’s Honey shares our passion for providing the best, purest honey possible.”
Deep in the heart of Beeville, Texas (yep, it’s a real place), Matt carries on his beekeeping legacy, building a hive full of possibilities.
Suresh
With a doctorate in philosophy, plant breeding and genetics, Suresh is proof that science and beekeeping make a pretty sweet pair. As Vice President of Agricultural Research & Development, he brings more than 20 years of agriscience experience to advancing the way we understand and support healthy hives.
Suresh is part of the first U.S. honey company to establish a full-time, in-house research & development team dedicated to studying how plants, blooms and honey bee health come together to create the highest-quality, best-tasting pure honey. His work in seed science, plant biology and flower optimization helps ensure every drop of Nate’s Honey starts with a strong foundation.
“For me, research begins with respect for nature,” Suresh said. “When we understand how honey bees and their environment work together, everything we produce becomes a little more meaningful.”
We’re buzzing with excitement to have Dr. Suresh Bhamidimarri bringing science, heart and curiosity to the Nate’s Hives team.
Luigi
Luigi is the kind of leader who knows that great honey starts with great care. As Vice President of Operations, Agriculture & Apiculture, Luigi is helping guide the continued growth of Nate’s Hives – expanding modern apiary operations and ensuring every step from hive to harvest is done the right way.
With a career built on leading farm operations and building strong, mission-driven teams, Luigi’s focus is on making sure our honey bees – and our beekeepers – have everything they need to thrive. And his experience and forward-thinking will drive innovation that is critical not only to the future of Nate’s Hives but to honey bee health, sustainable beekeeping and the ecosystem.
“Beekeeping is about patience and balance,” Luigi said. “Our job is to support nature’s process and deliver honey that’s as pure as the place it comes from.”
We think Luigi’s the real deal when it comes to hive harmony, and we’re proud to have him leading our growing operation.
Josh
As Apiary Land Manager, Josh knows that healthy hives start with healthy land – being a steward of the spaces where honey bees thrive to optimize every acre for the health and wellbeing of Nate’s Hives and ultimately our ecosystem. With years of experience in land management and a deep respect for nature’s balance, there’s no one better to manage 120,000 colonies across 7 states nationwide than Josh.
Josh understands that maintaining trusted relationships with local communities is critical to protecting the ecosystems that have remained untouched for generations. And thanks to Josh, Nate’s Hives is proud to partner with thousands of farmers and ranchers nationwide to bring Nate’s Honey from the pasture to your plate.
“Healthy hives need healthy land. By partnering with local landowners, we not only provide the diverse forage honey bees need to thrive, but we get to give back to the community too,” Josh said.
Nate’s Hives is dedicated to putting honey bees on only natural forage, and Josh is making sure every honey bee gets the good stuff.
Chloe
Chloe’s passion for all things agriculture has been the foundation of her career since day one – from horses, to horticulture, to honey bees. With a degree in forestry and more than a decade of experience in multimedia, she’s always had a knack for capturing the natural world in motion. (You might say she’s the queen of bee-roll.)
As Marketing Specialist for Nate’s Hives, Chloe shares the stories that happen behind the scenes – from the hum of the bee yard to the latest in honey bee health, beekeeping best practices and industry research. Her work connects the honey bees to the brand, helping fans see how care, science and stewardship come together in every drop of Nate’s Honey.
“We always say our process goes from hive to home but showing what that really means is what I love most. Every bottle of Nate’s Honey reflects our dedication – not just to the craft but to the honey bees that make it all possible.”
From hive to headline, Chloe’s all about sharing what makes our honey bees – and our honey – so special.
